Lady Gaga Wears Michael Jackson's Jacket

Patriotic Lady Gaga might be our favorite iteration of Mother Monster to date. The daring pop icon has recently been rocking the vote like no other—most notably while wearing her wide-brimmed, feather-bearing “Vote” hat (who says politics can’t have flair?).

At a Hillary Clinton rally on Monday, Gaga pulled out her edgy election season style once more—though this time around, her look carried an influence decidedly more cultural than political. Once again, Gaga donned her feathery hat but, what's more, the singer performed in a black-and-red military style jacket, à la Michael Jackson. She paired it with a set of black pants, studded booties, and aviator shades.

The late King of pop’s style has influenced performers for decades, but Gaga’s piece is not necessarily a Jackson-inspired knockoff. In 2012 the Joanne songstress purchased 55 items from his estate at an auction, which included the xylophone-esque jacket that M.J. wore when meeting President George H.W. Bush in 1990.

At the time, Gaga said on Twitter, "The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived & expertly cared for in the spirit & love of Michael Jackson, his bravery, & fans worldwide."

We're not sure if that means her look from Monday is a replica of a carefully preserved artifact that she already owns but if not: The King and the Queen of Pop have worn the same piece of clothing—how cool is that?
